Come in! Fire it up, make it cosy and let the holiday begin.

Ramenai. The perfect forest holiday. Ten rustic wooden huts are located in a small clearing in the middle of the Mühlviertel Bohemian Forest. Seven of them are equipped with RIKA stoves – for very special moments of well-being, especially when it starts getting cooler outside.

The Böhmerwaldlerdorf huts in Upper Austria are reminiscent of bygone days, those of forest farmers and lumberjacks, in their simplicity and traditional construction. And they have charm. Günter Hofbauer, host at the Ramenai, has implemented his idea of slower, mindful living here. Wood as far as the eye can see: inside and outside, carefully crafted, with great attention to detail. Muted, natural colours, soft fabrics and lots of light make the interior look down-to-earth, romantic and modern at the same time.

Authentic fire for a tangible attitude to life

"We chose the LOOK stove because it embodies our company philosophy: it is calm, honest and makes our huts really cosy," says Günter Hofbauer. Moreover, heating with wood is simply part of a forest holiday and has a very long tradition in the Bohemian Forest. Vienna was supplied with wood from the Bohemian Forest by means of a specially constructed log flume as early as the 18th century.

As a welcome gift, there is also a box of firewood in all the cabins equipped with the RIKA LOOK, in addition to the "Waldlerpaket" provisions package. And although the cabins are also heated by a central underfloor heating system powered by pellets, hardly any guests miss the opportunity to fire up the RIKA LOOK. "The pleasant radiant heat and soothing crackle of the flames make the LOOK a haven of peace in our cabins," says Günter Hofbauer, aware of the positive effect of wood-burning stoves on our holistic well-being.

Really get to work – even on holiday

The Ramenai guests are all nature lovers. Even chopping small wood with an axe or fetching wood from the firewood hut is a rather exotic job for most people and is particularly popular among men. Heating with logs and adding more wood to the fire is also one of their favourite activities. Anyone who feels like a bit more physical exertion will find plenty of opportunity to prove their strength, balance and dexterity on the high ropes course. In addition to experiencing "nature", sports and culture are not neglected with numerous opportunities on offer close to the Waldlerdorf. Whatever you choose, at the end of the day, coming home is probably the best part…

The Ramenai
There are few quieter places to spend your holiday. Just breathing in the clear forest air is pure relaxation.
"Black kitchen"
The self-catering huts are equipped with a "black kitchen". Black like the old farmhouse kitchens in the past.
